Diablo 4, the highly anticipated installment in the Diablo series, is set to launch on June 2nd, 2023. In the time leading up to its release, fans of the game will have the opportunity to participate in two beta periods in March. Those who preordered the game can partake in an early access beta between March 17th and 19th, and everyone else can access an open beta between March 24th and 26th.
Early Access will be available to all players who preorder the game, and you’ll be able to play the prologue and first act. Characters will be able to level up to 25. Players will also be able to give feedback and report any bugs or issues they encounter.
The Open Beta period will follow the Early Access period and will be open to all players. It will run from March 24th through the 26th, and the same content will be the same as the Early Access period. This will allow players to experience the game before its full release and provide additional feedback to the developers.
Progress will transfer between the two betas but not to the full game. Here’s a trailer!
Although anticipation is high, Blizzard has come under fire in the past year due to reports and allegations of mismanagement, workplace conditions, and various labor disputes. Their parent company, Activision Blizzard, is currently facing legal action. To make matters worse, their previous Diablo installment, Diablo Immortal, contained shockingly invasive microtransactions.
Diablo 4’s video game release date will, unfortunately, coincide with Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, adding an additional challenge for Blizzard. The company will have to work hard to ensure that the game remains appealing to fans and critics alike, especially considering the dubious circumstances surrounding their previous works.
