The Pokemon Company and Game Freak unexpectedly announced further downloadable content (DLC) ‘Epilogue’ for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet on January 11, 2024, barely a week after the release of the second part of their two-part DLC, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. This new addition to the game promises to provide one last adventure in Paldea before venturing into new territories of Pokemon in 2024.
The short announcement teaser revealed the return of main characters from the base game Nemona, Arvin, and Penny, who will journey to Kitakami for one last adventure. These characters were absent from the previous DLCs – The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk, and their return in a new storyline is a commendable addition.
However, the details for this Epilogue DLC remain scarce with only a hint that players will need to complete a certain postgame event and the main stories of the two DLC episodes to access the new chapter. While it’s suspected this would require completing the Academy Ace Tournament, official confirmation will only come in the new year.
