Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail is commencing with two new jobs, namely Viper which was launched in Summer and Pictomancer, which derives its inspiration from Final Fantasy VI. The specific release date is yet to be disclosed but is promised for the summer. Director and producer Naoki Yoshida shed light on this while displaying the entirety of Dawntrail’s Dawntrailer, stating that the game’s launch would align with Final Fantasy XIV timeline, hinting at a summer window. FFXIV Patch 6.55’s launch is confirmed for January 16th, with Yoshida reassuring fans of a smooth, timely rollout unlike the delayed Endwalker update that sparked frustration among the community.

The addition of Pictomancer to the FFXIV roster provides another caster job, thematically rooted in Final Fantasy VI’s artist, Relm Arrowny. It is recommended for its lore-rich content, especially to those immersing themselves in Eureka. The introduction of this character is a suitable follow-up to the previous launched role of Viper.

Last year, Square Enix debuted its fifth FFXIV expansion, Dawntrail, at its Las Vegas Fan Festival and announced the upcoming features and major stories concluding in the 2021’s Endwalker in a subsequent event in London. This marked the onset of version 7.0, leading to a new epoch in the MMO.
