After several postponements, Clover Bite and Akupara Games have set January 25 as the launch date for the Nintendo Switch version of their much-anticipated game, Grime. This Soulslike game was first announced in December 2021 with a projected release window of Summer 2022. The release date comes with the introduction of the game’s third and final free DLC, Parting Shade, across all platforms. The new DLC will expand the game’s universe with a novel area to explore, challenging even veteran metroidvania players to intense battles against adversity.

Grime has gained massive popularity within the metroidvania community for its unique blend of horror, in-depth leveling progression, and innovative parry system. Yarden Weissbrot, the Creative Director, recognized the demand for a more immersive experience within the metroidvania landscape, paving the way for the development of Grime Definitive Edition. The Definitive Edition consolidates the base game and three complimentary DLCs – Colors of Rot, Tinge of Terror, and Parting Shade – thereby offering an unrivaled gaming experience to its users.

Grime allows players to control and power up a nameless destroyer in a remarkable 3D landscape. With environment-born foes and weaponry that changes forms, it not only brings a thrilling layer of surrealism but also provides unique scope for skill progression. The players face colossal creatures, studying and countering their strategies to obtain game-changing abilities. Additionally, the Colors of Rot update features new abilities and enemies, unfolding horrifying mysteries and intensifying the gaming experience.
