Bethesda had planned to roll out a significant update for the game Starfield, promising numerous bug fixes. However, an unexpected glitch has caused the studio to delay the release of this anticipated patch. Revealed in a Twitter post, the team stated they discovered an issue they wish to rectify before the update comes into effect, even though they did not elaborate on what the problem could be. The developers have asked for the public’s patience as they aim to release the update later in the week.

While the delay may seem inconvenient, it might not take too long, as the original plan was to send out the patch today. Bethesda reassures its followers that they will make an announcement once a confirmed time is decided upon. The delay could even be beneficial for the overall game quality. Microsoft previously postponed Starfield’s release to fine-tune its polishing, the result of which were noticeable improvements to what some dubbed as one of Bethesda’s least buggy games.

Currently, the future looks uncertain for Starfield, a dream project for Todd Howard. The game has received mixed reviews on Steam with “Mostly Negative” ratings for recent scores. However, Bethesda has the potential to turn the tide, but that depends heavily on the upcoming patch. Therefore, the delayed update carries significant weight for the future of Starfield.
