The upcoming 4.4 update for Genshin Impact, “Vibrant Harriers Aloft in Spring Breeze,” set to debut on January 31, will bring with it the annual Lantern Rite celebrated in Liyue and a new region, Chenyu Vale, for players to explore. Players can expect various rewards including Intertwined Fates, a free Liyue four-star character, and a new outfit for Xingqiu along with the Lantern Festival’s kite-themed festivities which include new events, mini-games, redeemable items, and character outfits. The game will also offer up to 10 Intertwined Fates as part of a limited-time daily login event, and an additional 3 Intertwined Fates and 2 Fragile Resin via the in-game mailbox.
Two new playable characters, Xianyun and Gaming, will be introduced in the game as part of the new year in Teyvat. Xianyun, a five-star Anemo catalyst wielder, allows players to leap and dash forward twice in mid-air and provides healing along with boosting the height of jumps and Plunging Attacks for nearby teammates. Gaming, a four-star Pyro character, incorporates Wushou arts into his combat style as a claymore user. Version 4.4 Event Wishes will feature Xianyun, Gaming, and the reruns of Nahida, Xiao, and Yae Miko.
Chenyu Vale, the new expansion area in Liyue, is a misty, scenic location with hills, waterfalls, flourishing villages, and stories of the adepti. Qiaoying Village and Yilong Wharf are among the highlights, but the majority of Chenyu Vale is off the beaten track, home to legendary beasts and even a boss enemy, the “Solitary Suanni.” Through the blessing of the adepti, players can transform into a carp to access hard-to-reach areas. Two new technical features, Global Far Fog (GFF) and Gradient Tint Rock, contribute to the detailed representation of Chenyu Vale, altering mist, cloud density, and mountain tint based on various environmental factors.
