Square Enix revealed new insights about the Forest and Sea Chocobo in FFVII Rebirth. Formerly known as Green and Blue Chocobos in the original Final Fantasy VII, these creatures are characterized by their unique skills and feather color. Forest Chocobos can navigate through dense forests by jumping on mushrooms and sliding down large tree branches, thus allowing players to explore these intricate areas. On the other hand, Sea Chocobos possess the ability to skim the surface of water bodies using water jets from their talons, permitting the players to reach inaccessible regions.
In addition to these details, Square Enix released a short video that demonstrates the different movement capabilities of various Chocobos in the game. The video, in particular, showcases the Forest and Sea Chocobos, but also introduces two other unidentified Chocobos. The first appears to be a black Chocobo with potential skill for climbing vertical terrains, and the second is a light-blue Chocobo seemingly capable of gliding through the air.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is scheduled to be released on the PS5 on February 29, 2024, with a demo currently available. An update featuring a Junon segment will also be implemented on February 21, 2024. The FFVII Remake is now accessible for the PS4, PS5, and PC.
