Nintendo Japan has announced changes to its company’s website, with the updated URL now being nintendo.com/jp. Users who employ the previous address, nintendo.co.jp, will still be redirected to the new webpage. This modification takes the Japanese site closer in form to its American counterpart, nintendo.com/us, rather than the U.K. version, nintendo.co.uk, and represents overall improvements to the site, keeping some links in the old format without offering explanations.
Whether all Nintendo’s regional websites, particularly those holding the previous format like the U.K.’s, will shift to the new Japanese format remained unannounced. Considering this move, a similar reshuffle could be anticipated across the board, although Nintendo didn’t provide further updates on this matter.
The company’s recent worldwide highlight was the February 2024 partner direct focusing on third-party games slated for the Switch this year. Speculation is also ongoing about a potential successor for the Switch, predicted for a 2025 launch. However, Nintendo remains silent on its next console plans.
