In the lead-up to the release of FFVII Rebirth, a new patch for Final Fantasy VII Remake has been released, generating buzz for alterations to Aerith’s concluding dialogue and Tifa’s outfit. The modifications appeared to aim at aligning the first game more closely with the forthcoming second installment of the remake trilogy. Notably, the alteration to Tifa’s attire concerns a rapid Nibelheim flashback experienced by Cloud in Final Fantasy VII Remake, with her new shirt corresponding to that depicted in initial trailers and screenshots of FFVII Rebirth.

The adjustment to Aerith’s final line in the initial game is a mere alteration of a sentence. The former ending had her remark, “I miss it. The steel sky”, which has now been changed to, “This sky… I don’t like it.” These changes were noticed by fans and highlighted in a video by DarkYamiThe3RD, illustrating the modified costume and dialogue.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is available on PS4, PS5, and PC platforms, while FFVII Rebirth is expected to arrive on PS5 on February 29, 2024. The demo version of the game has been made live on the PlayStation Store, and PlayStation’s exclusivity for the game expires on May 29, 2024.
