Atlus recently showcased a new trailer for the upcoming RPG, Metaphor: ReFantazio, at the Anime Expo 2024. The presentation was led by Director Katsura Hashino and character designer Shigenori Soejima, who unveiled the title and revealed detailed artwork of the characters, job Archetypes, and the Gauntlet Runner vehicles. They notably ended the panel with a much-anticipated story trailer for Metaphor Re:Fantazio.
The trailer delved deeper into the game’s premise, its surrounding events, and provided glimpses of new gameplay footage. The story is set in motion by the untimely assassination of the king in the United Kingdom of Euchronia, leading to widespread speculation about the future ruler. Players take on the mantle of a boy from the Elda tribe who embarks on a challenging journey to become the next king and break a curse afflicting his childhood friend, the crown prince of Euchronia.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is slated for a global release on October 11, available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
