Nintendo has revealed that the first three installments of the Densetsu no Starfy GBA series will be included in the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass. Available only in Japan previously, these platformer games follow the adventure of the star prince, who journeys underwater in quests ranging from a quest to return home to rescuing his kidnapped mother. With a total of five games in the series, the initial three were exclusive to the GBA in Japan while the fourth marked the first DS appearance and the fifth released worldwide as The Legendary Starfy.
Starfy, the character from Densetsu no Starfy has also made appearances in Super Mario Maker, featuring as a character costume and an Event Course. Additionally, Starfy is an Assist Trophy and Spirit in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, signifying its continued reference in the gaming world post its original series releases.
The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack will be releasing Densetsu no Starfy 1–3 on July 12, 2024. All these games which were formerly available only on the GBA in Japan, will now be accessible on the Nintendo Switch platform.
