Edia has formally announced plans for the release of the Chō Aniki Collection on Nintendo Switch, via a tease, and without a specified launch date. The collection is set to feature Switch ports of the original two PC Engine games, Chō Aniki and Ai Chō Aniki, all built to mimic the original game experience as closely as possible. Additional attractions planned for a wider audience have been hinted at, but no specific details have been shared.

Chō Aniki is a game series known for their muscular characters who clearly never miss leg day. The series, which originated as a shoot ’em up game on PC Engine in 1992, has primarily remained in Japan, although a few versions have made it to the states, sometimes untranslated. In 2020, a fan-made translation for Chō Aniki: Bakuretsu Rantou Hen was released for the Super Famicom.

Before Chō Aniki can stage its much-anticipated comeback, a crowdfunding campaign is set to launch through Makuake. While the campaign is touted as “coming soon”, audiences can sign up to be informed of its release. The creators hope to distribute “the masterpiece shooter to the world” and get players ready for some exciting action.
