Nintendo is set to premiere a Nintendo Direct presentation on Tuesday, Aug. 27, featuring both a Partner Showcase and Indie World stream. This two-part stream will spotlight games from major third-party publishers as well as titles from smaller independent developers, running for approximately 40 minutes from 10 a.m. EDT/7 a.m. PDT on Nintendo’s YouTube and Twitch channels. However, Nintendo clarifies there will be no updates about the next-generation console, the “Switch 2.”
The stream aims to focus on Nintendo Switch games not directly from Nintendo. Likely mentions may include upcoming third-party games such as Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, Sonic X Shadow Generations, Yars Rising, Gundam Breaker 4, and the Ace Attorney Investigations Collection. Nintendo emphasizes there will be no mention of the upcoming “Switch 2” during these presentations.
Reports suggest the “Switch 2” is anticipated to release in early 2025. Official information from Nintendo regarding this next-gen console may only be disclosed during the later part of the year. Meanwhile, original Switch users can look forward to games like The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Super Mario Party Jamboree, Mario & Luigi: Brothership, and Metroid Prime 4 to keep them occupied while awaiting the “Switch 2”.
