Nihon Falcom, a Japanese video game developer, has announced a 3D remake of the popular turn-based RPG game, The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, titled as The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st. The game, set to be released on Nintendo Switch in 2025, was originally released on the PC, followed by a PlayStation Portable version in 2006. The company also disclosed that it is contemplating releasing the remake on PC and PlayStation platforms, with the identity of the western publisher yet to be finalized.
Set in the fictional continent of Zemuria, the game unfolds the journey of Estelle Bright and her adopted sibling Joshua Bright in the kingdom of Liberl, as they train to become senior Bracers after their father’s disappearance. The western release occurred in 2011 by XSEED Games and Ghostlight, followed by PC version in 2014 and PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions in Japan.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, the inaugural game of the Trails series, is part of a trilogy. Its direct sequel, The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky Second Chapter, continues the story immediately following the events of the first game while the third game features a different protagonist, Kevin Graham, set after the events of the preceding games. The trilogy led to multiple sequels set in different nations within Zemuria.
