Pictures of what appear to be the successor to the Nintendo Switch console have appeared online, supposedly featuring an eight-inch screen, Joy-Cons using a magnetic attachment, and superior hardware in comparison to the current model. These images were first discovered on a Chinese social media site and then shared on Reddit. Despite Nintendo not commenting on this, it has been reported that this aligns with the expected final design for the Switch 2.

The Switch 2 is purported to have enhanced features such as 12GB of RAM, HDMI 2.1 support, and 256GB of internal storage. The controller designs illustrate revised SL/SR buttons and a different LED layout. Nintendo is yet to provide any specifics on its next system, however, they intend to surprise and delight fans when it is eventually unveiled.

Amidst copious rumors about the final design, it’s expected the Switch 2 could be officially revealed either late September or early October. Although, Nintendo is yet to confirm, President Shuntaro Furukawa did previously identify that the Switch 2’s announcement will come before the end of their fiscal year ending on March 31, 2025. At the same time, Pathea Games, the developer of My Time at Evershine, had mentioned that its game will be launching on “future Nintendo platforms yet to be announced.”
