Square Enix ignites gaming excitement by unveiling its 2020-released Trials of Mana remake, now available on Xbox Series via the Microsoft Store for $49.99. Moreover, gamers can also download it through the Xbox Game Pass. This development moves the gaming community into a world of enchantment and adventure, with the Trials of Mana presenting a daring blend of fantastical narratives and exhilarating gameplay.

Trials of Mana, the 3D reimagining of an iconic RPG initially launched in 1995 as Seiken Densetsu 3, has seen a transformative rebirth. This daring narrative that challenges gamers to defy destiny shines with a renewed glow, offering lovers of the classic adventure a fully modernized version. The upgrade incorporates enhanced graphics, comprehensive character voiceover support, and a remastered soundtrack. Promising more thrills, it features a new episode accessible post-ending, and introduces an innovative ability system with a new class that restructures the character levelling system, complemented by more dynamic battles.

An intricately layered story unfolds, changing course dependent on your choice of main character and companions. This thought-provoking question hangs in the balance: Can these young adventurers wield the power of mana to reclaim the world before it succumbs to destruction?

In this universe, when darkness consumed the world, the Mana Goddess unleashed the Sword of Mana to strike down the eight Benevodons – destructive monsters. She trapped these horrors within the eight Mana Stones, pulling back the realm from the edge of destruction. Yet, the process left her so depleted that she had to transform herself into a tree and enter a centuries-long slumber.

However, malevolent forces seeking to control the world unleashed the Benevodons, sparking a catastrophic war that threw the kingdoms into chaos. This turmoil saw the world start losing Mana, causing the Mana Tree to progressively wither away.

Trials of Mana stands as a complete 3D revival of the third entry in the Mana series, previously released in Japan under the title Seiken Densetsu 3. The entire game undergoes a comprehensive overhaul, boasting contemporary 3D graphics. The game allows players to select their leading character and two companions from a pool of six unique characters. The plot unfolds in distinctive trajectories, dependent on the protagonists and companions chosen.

Gamers face the intriguing dilemma of choosing between light and darkness as they explore character types created through the class change system. The rebirthed game introduces a new “abilities” mechanic and a fourth class for each character, widening the scope for customization and ensuring each gamer enjoys the unique thrill of the updated battle system.

The audio experience equally complements the game’s impressive visual upgrades. The score features newly arranged versions of 60 music tracks, supervised by renowned composer Hiroki Kikuta. Players also possess the freedom to oscillate between the original and the revised soundtracks according to their preference.

Trials of Mana made its initial debut on PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam on April 24, 2020. Subsequently, it was released for iOS via the App Store and Android via Google Play on July 15, 2021.

For Xbox gamers eager to witness the game’s thrilling action, there’s an announcement trailer available to whet your appetite for the captivating gaming experience that awaits. Brace yourselves for an intense journey, filled with action, strategic decision-making, and a story that unfolds according to your choices.
