Renowned game developer Square Enix is set to bring an old classic back to life with the Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake. This new adaptation of the timeless role-playing game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam) starting from November 14. What’s more, to keep up the anticipation, Square Enix recently unveiled a bunch of glossy, new screenshots that reveal the exquisite landscapes and elements of the game in the revived HD-2D graphic style.

Coming in high-definition 2D visuals, Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake exhibits a substantial update from its original version. A couple of the game’s iconic locations are prominently displayed in the released screenshots. The city of Romaria, renowned for its magnificent architecture, grand statues and the irresistibly charming Monster Arena, shines brightly in the updated graphics. Likewise, the reinvigorated town of Mur, a charming village cozily set amidst snow, offers players an immersive rural experience, painted in lush, vibrant colors.

Keen Dragon Quest fans can look forward to a ton of remastered and unprecedented features thrown into this new adaptation. Notably, the immersive Monster Arena Tournaments are making their debut in the Dragon Quest gaming universe with this remake. These are strategically scattered across the global expanse. To prove victorious, players will need to assemble their springiest team of up to three rescued monsters. Rescuing more of the same species will amplify their might, making your team of creatures a formidable force to contend with.

Of course, rescuing monsters isn’t as simple as it sounds. The challenge lies in adopting unique strategies to rope in different monsters. While some might scatter on hearing particular noises or smelling certain scents, others might disappear on sighting you. Deploying abilities or items that make you invisible or mask your scent could come in handy to successfully rescue these critters.

Adding to the thrill of the gameplay is the debut of the Monster Wrangler character class. Home to an array of abilities, having Monster Wranglers in your team might just be the secret to your victory in Monster Arena Tournaments. These characters possess an adept knack to prevent friendly critters from running away when they notice your approach. What’s more, they hold the prowess to notify you about the presence of these creatures nearby.

The power-packed Monster Wrangler’s “Monster Pile-On” attack is bound to hold players in awe. The strength of this attack is directly proportional to the number of monsters you’ve managed to rescue. And, as an added advantage, rescuing more monsters gets you new abilities for the Monster Wrangler!

To put it succinctly, Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake offers the entire Dragon Quest experience, but with vivid HD-2D graphics, and novel, modernized features that breathe new life into it. Along with a more defined narrative, the game exhibits a superior version of a cherished gem, making it an ideal starting point for any gaming enthusiast eager to plunge into one of the most inspirational RPG franchises ever.

Pre-orders for the physical and digital versions of Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake are currently open to all interested players. In an exciting offer, those who pre-order will be rewarded with a handy Trouble-Free Travel Kit in the game, packed with a variety of beneficial in-game items.
