Nintendo recently revealed on their social media platforms that patrons of their Fukuoka, Kyoto, Okinawa, Osaka, and Tokyo locations would be able to purchase a selection of new Metroid-themed merchandise. Among the items now available, fans can purchase an arm cannon pillow which fits over someone’s arm, and an enticing ice tray that creates uniquely shaped Metroid ice pieces.
Preorders for six of these merchandise pieces are also available on Nintendo’s Japanese online store. This new merchandise’s launch is harmoniously in time with the release of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond on both the Switch and Switch 2. As of yet, there has been no announcement concerning their availability in American Nintendo Stores.
These new Metroid articles are not just aesthetic but also practical. For instance, the Metroid Gadget Case and Morph Ball pouch are specifically designed to accommodate chargers and cords, as depicted in the in-store photos providing a sense of scale. Even the Baby Metroid keychain doubles as a magnet demonstrated holding multiple keychains.
Furthermore, the Metroid silicone mold can be used for creating ice cubes or other treats. Customers are shown how their ice cubes or jelly desserts would appear when utilizing this tray. Here is a list of available Metroid merchandise and their prices from Nintendo Store locations in Japan:
1. Arm Cannon pillow – 6,600 yen
2. Baby Metroid keychain – 2,420 yen
3. Metroid gadget case – 4,400 yen
4. Metroid glasses – 4,400 yen
5. Metroid silicone ice cube tray – 2,640 yen
6. Morph Ball pouch keychain – 3,520 yen
Although these newly released items coincide with the debut of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, these items largely seem to be generic, inspired by Metroid titles at large. The merchandise collection is now available for purchase in Japanese Nintendo Stores. Globally, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is also now available on the Switch and Switch 2.
