Everyone is intrigued by a sudden surprise release, and the recent Indie World presentation by Nintendo didn’t just reveal one, but made a trio of such releases. This big reveal placed ‘Blue Prince’ in the limelight – this game was one of the top-rated games of 2025. Fans will be excited to know that this highly lauded puzzle game will be available on the Switch 2 platform. An additional feature to look forward to is the implementation of mouse controls within the gameplay.
Coinciding with the release of ‘Blue Prince’ on the Switch 2, gamers are also introduced to ‘Rotwood’ and ‘Minishoot Adventures’. Rotwood comes from the development team behind Mark of the Ninja and Don’t Starve – Klei Entertainment. It is particularly interesting to note that Rotwood is an exclusive console release for Switch 2. Previously in the Steam Early Access from 2024, this co-op brawler engages players in thrilling fights across seven unique environments, equipping them with different weapons like hammers and bows.
Alongside these two, ‘Minishoot Adventures’ is making its debut on both the Switch 2 and the original Switch. This title was acknowledged as one of the favourite PC games from 2024. In this exciting twin-stick shooter, players are tasked with dungeon crawling and saving adorable allies. Minishoot Adventures essentially entwines the elements of Geometry Wars and The Legend of Zelda, promising an enchanting gaming experience.
Beyond these full releases, the recent Indie World also showcased some free game demos now available in the eShop. Gamers can try their hand at ‘Outbound’, ‘Unrailed 2: Back on Track’, and ‘Denshattack’. Compatibility isn’t an issue as these games can be played on either the Switch 2 or the original Switch.
Lastly, the notable Pokemon Pokopia launches on Switch 2 on March 5, which rapidly gained a reputation for being one of the highest-rated games in the Pokemon franchise history.
