Tactical Adventures has revealed the first major Steam Early Access update for Solasta II, with the patch scheduled to arrive on September 10, 2026. The update is a significant one for the fantasy cRPG, introducing online co-op multiplayer alongside a brand-new playable class. For players who have been waiting for more ways to experience the adventure with friends or expand their party-building options, this update looks set to deliver on both fronts.
The headline addition is online co-op support for up to four players. That feature should dramatically change how parties approach exploration, combat, and story progression, especially in a game built around tactical encounters and role-playing choices. Rather than simply adding basic multiplayer, Tactical Adventures is also including systems designed to make cooperative play smoother and more interactive. One of those is a Party Choice Voting system, which will allow players to weigh in on important dialogue selections and story decisions. In a party-based RPG where narrative choices can shape the tone and direction of a campaign, that kind of feature could help multiplayer sessions feel more collaborative instead of leaving one player to control every major moment.
Another useful addition coming with co-op is a Ping System for tactical communication. In games that rely on positioning, spell usage, and careful planning during battles, being able to quickly highlight enemies, locations, or points of interest can make teamwork much easier. This should be especially valuable for players who want to coordinate without constantly stopping the action. The update will also include a hot join feature, allowing players to enter a campaign that is already underway. That means groups will not necessarily need to restart an adventure from the beginning just because a friend wants to jump in later, which is a welcome quality-of-life feature for long-running campaigns.
Alongside multiplayer, the update is also bringing the Warlock to the game as its seventh class. That addition expands party composition and character-building possibilities in a meaningful way. Warlocks are often popular in fantasy RPGs because of their mix of magical power, unusual flavor, and strong role-playing identity. In this case, players will also have access to two subclass options for the class: Timekeeper and Dreamer. While full details on how those subclasses will play have not been outlined here, their names suggest distinct thematic directions that could add more variety to both combat builds and character concepts.
The update goes beyond those two major features with a range of extra content and system improvements. Tactical Adventures is adding thirty new world events, which should help make the game world feel more dynamic and varied during progression. Additional character creation options are also on the way, giving players more freedom when designing their heroes. For fans of tabletop-inspired customization, the inclusion of a dice-rolling option for character stats is another notable addition. That feature should appeal to players who enjoy a more traditional RPG approach and want some unpredictability when shaping a new character.
The patch will also introduce optional spell component rules, adding another layer of mechanical depth for players who want a ruleset closer to a classic tabletop experience. Meanwhile, cloud saves are being added as well, offering a practical convenience that should make it easier to continue a campaign across different systems or play sessions without worrying about local save management.
Solasta II is the follow-up to 2021’s Solasta: Crown of the Magister and continues to build on the series’ tactical fantasy identity. The game uses the Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.2 ruleset, reinforcing its roots in structured party combat, character classes, and choice-driven adventuring. Its setting takes place decades after the events of the first title and centers on the high-fantasy realm of Neokos, which stands on the brink of destruction due to the threat posed by the immensely powerful Shadwyn.
Players take control of a group of adoptive siblings who become entangled in an ancient conflict. Their journey also connects them with their elder siblings, Rickard and Deorcas Colwall, tying family dynamics into the broader stakes of the story. That setup gives the sequel a personal angle within its larger fantasy narrative, which could help distinguish it from more straightforward save-the-world adventures.
With online co-op, a new class, more world events, expanded character creation, and several quality-of-life upgrades all arriving in one update, September 10 could mark an important step for Solasta II during its Early Access period. The patch appears aimed at broadening both the social and mechanical sides of the game, giving current players more reasons to return while making the experience more appealing to newcomers interested in tactical fantasy RPGs.
