Happinet has outlined its post-launch support plans for Brigandine Abyss, giving players a clearer look at how the strategy RPG will evolve over the coming months. The developer shared the update roadmap through the game’s Steam page in both Japanese and English, confirming that multiple patches are on the way, including a larger feature-focused update planned for April 2027.
The first patch is already live and mainly focuses on quality-of-life improvements, gameplay adjustments, and bug fixes. One of the more useful changes is the addition of clear conditions when starting Story Mode, which should help players better understand their objectives from the outset. The update also includes tweaks to D-pad input, likely aimed at making menu navigation and general control feel smoother.
Terrain interactions have also been adjusted for specific unit types. Centaurs and Chirons will no longer suffer reduced movement while traveling through forest terrain, which should make these units more practical in maps where wooded areas previously slowed them down too heavily. Another notable gameplay fix affects CPU behavior during the Invasion Phase. If the CPU attacks a player-controlled base during that phase, it will no longer target that same base again in the following season. That change should reduce repetitive pressure and make enemy actions feel more varied and fair. As expected, the patch also includes a range of unspecified fixes.
Beyond the first update, Happinet has also shared details on three additional patches planned for the months ahead. These updates continue the trend of refining the game’s systems while gradually introducing more convenience features and balance changes.
One upcoming patch will add a sort function to the equipment screen, which should make inventory management much easier for players handling larger armies and more complex loadouts. Aquatic monster balance is also being addressed. Mermaids, Jörgoths, and other water-based creatures will no longer have their evasion reduced when fighting on watery terrain. Since those units are naturally associated with that environment, the adjustment makes thematic and gameplay sense, and it should improve their usefulness on maps featuring rivers, lakes, or coastal zones.
Additional interface options are also on the way. Players will be able to adjust the size of the HP gauge, giving them more control over battlefield readability. There will also be an option to turn the minimap on or off, which may appeal to players who prefer a cleaner screen or a more immersive presentation. Another visual improvement will increase the range at which trees shrink their display on battlefield maps, likely helping visibility during combat. On top of that, the soundtrack for the game’s factions is being adjusted, alongside another batch of general fixes.
The third planned patch, currently scheduled for February 2027, continues the focus on usability and strategic clarity. It will introduce a sort function to the Manage Troops screen and also add a Recommended Formations feature. These additions should help players organize their forces more efficiently, especially when preparing for larger campaigns or trying to optimize unit composition. Another important change in this patch is the display of Combat Power as a reference point when considering invasions. That feature could make it easier to judge risk before committing to an offensive move, which is especially valuable in a strategy game built around territorial expansion and army management.
The biggest update in the roadmap is the fourth patch, scheduled for April 2027. Happinet describes this as a major update, and it includes several substantial additions that go beyond simple fixes or interface improvements.
The headline feature is Creative Mode. Unlike Story Mode or Mission Mode, Creative Mode is designed to give players broader freedom in how they approach the game. It will allow for a wider range of faction power balances and more open unit management while players work to conquer the continent. This mode sounds like it could significantly expand replay value, especially for fans who enjoy experimenting with alternate scenarios, custom army setups, or less restricted campaign conditions.
Another major addition is a new class function. By using sub-class items, units will gain access to skills from different classes. This system has the potential to deepen customization and create more varied builds, giving players new ways to shape their armies and adapt to different tactical situations.
Customizable difficulty settings are also being added in the same update. Rather than relying on a single preset challenge level, players will be able to adjust various aspects of the game’s difficulty individually. That kind of flexibility can make the experience more welcoming for newcomers while also giving veteran strategy players more ways to tailor the challenge to their preferences.
The April patch will also add a Retreat function for CPU factions and make further adjustments to CPU AI behavior during battles. These changes suggest Happinet is continuing to refine the game’s strategic flow, with a focus on making enemy decision-making more believable and dynamic.
Taken together, the roadmap shows a steady and fairly thoughtful post-launch support plan for Brigandine Abyss. The earlier patches are centered on usability, balance, and readability, while the larger April 2027 update aims to broaden the game’s systems in more meaningful ways. For players already invested in the game, the upcoming additions could make the experience smoother, deeper, and more customizable over time.
