The Elden Ring expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, may have a release date in February 2024 according to an accidental leak by a retailer. The expansion was announced after Elden Ring’s first anniversary with notable characters Miquella and Torrent depicted in some art. No official release date was given, though from the leak it appears that we might be returning to the Lands Between sooner rather than later.

The retailer leak came in the form of a product page for new Elden Ring-themed controllers, a partnership between Bandai Namco, the game’s publisher and Thrustmaster, an accessories manufacturer. The promotional materials for the controllers mentioned a release date in sync with the new Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. The second anniversary of the game’s launch in February would provide a fitting release date.

The product sheets also hinted at a possible second Elden Ring expansion in 2025, although the wording was vague and could imply a Game of the Year re-release of the base game along with the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. Despite Datablitz removing all product and release date mentions, this leak provides the first potential release date for Shadow of the Erdtree.
