Ahead of the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Square Enix has unveiled a video recap of the FFVII Remake storyline. The video, which lasts three minutes, revisits main events and characters from the first instalment of the trilogy. It begins with a glimpse at Midgar and its Mako power supply, followed by Avalanche’s efforts to dismantle the Mako reactors, led by characters Barret, Cloud, and Tifa. The recap also covers the introduction of Aerith, the targeting of Cloud by Shinra, the Sector 7 Pillar’s collapse, city destruction, Aerith’s kidnapping, and Sephiroth’s return.
In anticipation of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth’s release about a month from now, Square Enix has intensified announcements and revelations about the game. Info on a London event and the debut of the soundtrack were disseminated, accompanied by a promotional Square Enix Members reward themed around the game. Following the exclusive debut on the PS5 on February 29, 2024, the game will be available on other platforms as of May 29, 2024.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is part of a continuing series, with predecessors FFVII Remake and FFVII Ever Crisis available for PS4, PS5, PC and mobile devices.
