Nintendo Direct has recently unveiled the sequel to the popular game, World of Goo, with its launch exclusively slated for the Nintendo Switch on May 23, 2024. The presentation showcased gameplay footage from World of Goo 2, highlighting how it’s similar to its older version where players use small goo balls to construct bridges, platforms and to navigate towards the factory pipes, the final objective. However, the game developers have also introduced new elements to the game like goo turrets and terraforming to increase the complexity of puzzle-solving.
One significant addition to the new game is the local co-op compatibility. Unlike the original World of Goo, the sequel supports gameplay for up to four players on a single save. This multiplayer feature allows players to work together to tackle the challenges and solve puzzles the game presents.
Starting May 23, 2024, Nintendo Switch users will be able to exclusively own and experience World of Goo 2, an upgraded version of its 15-year old original. The release is expected to maintain the popularity of the World of Goo series while engaging new fans with its fresh, interactive features.
