Square Enix has revealed the much-anticipated arrival of the Kingdom Hearts franchise to Steam. Set to debut on June 13, the full Dark Seeker Saga featuring popular characters Sora, Donald, and Goofy will be available on Valve’s platform. Prior to this, Kingdom Hearts was an exclusive to the Epic Games Store on PC, and this expansion to Steam will bring the action-RPG franchise to an entirely new audience. The games set to release include “Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix”, “Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue”, “Kingdom Hearts 3 + Re Mind DLC”, and “Kingdom Hearts Intergum Masterpiece”. The latter acts as a bundled package of the previously mentioned three experiences and includes the Dead of Night keyblade.

With its inception in 2002, the original Kingdom Hearts was initially an exclusive for PlayStation 2. The franchise is a unique blend of the Disney universe and Final Fantasy characters. Beyond the three primary entries, there have been numerous sidestory games released on diverse platforms, including handhelds like the PlayStation Portable with an included game, “Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep”. The latter is also incorporated in the “HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix” experience.

Despite not disclosing the price points for the games, the Kingdom Hearts Intergum Masterpiece on the Nintendo eShop is priced at $90. As for its evolution, “Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue” was released in 2017, followed by the latest primary entry, “Kingdom Hearts 3” in 2019. These collections are available on the Epic Games Store, PS4, and Xbox One, and as of 2022, they’ve also been available on Nintendo Switch, celebrating the franchise’s 20th anniversary.
