Nexon has unveiled a substantial new look at its dark fantasy MMORPG, confirming that players will be able to try the game for themselves through an upcoming Steam demo tied to Steam Next Fest. Alongside that announcement, the publisher also released new class showcase trailers that highlight three of the game’s playable combat styles: Stormbringer, Executioner, and Spectral Blade. The new footage gives players a clearer sense of the game’s fast-paced action, character progression, and the broader scope of content planned for the demo.
According to the announcement, the demo is designed to be more than a brief preview. Players can expect access to three main story chapters, a selection of side content, and a sizable amount of progression systems. Nexon says the main story path alone should provide roughly 180 minutes of gameplay, while those who want to dig deeper and push toward maximum available progression can spend more than 480 minutes with the demo. That makes this a fairly robust slice of the MMORPG rather than a short vertical slice meant only to tease the opening minutes.
The demo is scheduled to launch on June 15 and will give players a chance to explore several of the game’s major systems. In addition to story quests, players will be able to take on 34 side quests spread across multiple regions. The preview build also includes three main regions, as well as 10 areas that can be liberated and explored. This structure suggests a world built around reclaiming territory and steadily expanding player influence, which could become a major pillar of long-term progression in the full release.
Combat appears to be one of the game’s biggest selling points, and the newly released class trailers put that front and center. Stormbringer, Executioner, and Spectral Blade each seem to offer distinct approaches to battle, giving players a range of options depending on whether they prefer speed, power, or a more technical style. Nexon says each class includes between 28 and 29 skills, supported by both active and passive progression systems. That should allow players to experiment with builds and tailor their approach over the course of the demo.
Beyond standard enemy encounters, the demo also includes a notable lineup of boss content. Players will be able to face 12 boss monsters in total, with encounters spanning Domain bosses, Field bosses, Defense of Spring battles, and Raid bosses. That variety suggests the game is aiming to mix solo-friendly challenges with larger-scale multiplayer experiences. Nexon also confirmed multiplayer-focused field content and matchmaking features, indicating that cooperative or group-based play will be an important part of the experience even in this early demo version.
Character progression goes beyond combat skills as well. A companion system centered around Eslyn will be available, featuring 17 companion skills and affinity-based exclusive questlines. This points to a more layered progression model where relationships and support mechanics may play a meaningful role in both gameplay and storytelling. For players who enjoy personalization, the demo will also include 12 costume sets and 19 mounts, offering a decent amount of visual customization right out of the gate.
Another standout feature is the inclusion of housing and management systems. Players will be able to construct and oversee seven different buildings that support enhancement, research, trade, and crafting. These facilities can be upgraded, adding a strategic layer to progression beyond direct combat. Combined with region liberation and resource management mechanics, the game appears to be blending traditional MMORPG questing with settlement development and long-term account growth.
Taken together, the demo seems positioned to show off a broad cross-section of what the full game is trying to achieve. Rather than focusing only on combat or story, it introduces players to questing, exploration, boss fights, multiplayer systems, companions, customization, and housing. That breadth could help the game stand out in a crowded MMORPG market, especially for players looking for a dark fantasy setting with both action-heavy battles and progression systems that extend beyond simple leveling.
The three class trailers are also an important part of this reveal because they help establish the game’s identity before players jump in. Stormbringer appears suited for those who want a dynamic and aggressive style, while Executioner seems built around heavier, punishing attacks. Spectral Blade, meanwhile, looks like it may appeal to players who prefer agility and precision. While hands-on play will ultimately determine how these classes feel, the early footage suggests that class choice will have a major impact on the overall experience.
With the demo arriving during Steam Next Fest, interested players will soon be able to judge for themselves whether this dark fantasy MMORPG delivers on its promise. The amount of content described by Nexon suggests a meaningful test run rather than a simple teaser, and the inclusion of multiple classes, bosses, regions, and progression systems should give players plenty to explore. For anyone keeping an eye on upcoming online RPGs, this demo could be one of the more notable showcases of the event.
Embers of the Uncrowned will be participating in the upcoming Steam Next Fest this June with the first-ever playable demo, showcasing the game’s immersive combat experience. The demo will features at least 180 minutes of gameplay to clear the main quests, and over 480 minutes of total content for players aiming to reach maximum progression, along with three main story chapters and 34 side quests.
