NPC Studio has officially launched version 1.0 of Fields of Mistria on PC through Steam, marking the game’s full release after its time in Early Access. The retro anime-inspired life-sim RPG now arrives with a substantial update that expands progression, relationships, customization, story content, and overall quality-of-life features. For players who have been waiting to jump in, this release represents the most complete version of the farming and town-building adventure so far.
One of the biggest additions in version 1.0 is the ability to fully complete the Town Repair questline. The town’s Renown cap has also been raised to 100, giving players more room to grow their standing and continue advancing through Mistria’s broader progression systems. A new Mistril Town Rank event has been added as well, helping the town feel more reactive to the player’s efforts over time. Several major quests have also been introduced, including Saturday Market Plaza and Repair the Bell Tower, adding more structure and long-term goals for players invested in restoring the community.
The relationship system has received one of the most meaningful expansions in the update. NPC heart levels can now reach 10, opening the door to proposal events, engagement, weddings, and marriage. Players can experience unique 10-heart events with romanceable characters, and after reaching the required relationship level, they can craft an Engagement Ring at the forge. The update also adds post-marriage dialogue, new routines for NPCs after marriage, and optional family-related content. In the weeks following marriage, players can unlock the Mystical Feather, which triggers a family planning discussion for those who want to have a child. Children are now fully part of the game, making version 1.0 feel like a true milestone for the life-sim side of the experience.
Customization has also been expanded in several ways. Once a house is fully upgraded, players can change its exterior style through the Carpenter’s Shop. Wedding details such as flower color, cake flavor, and reception meal can be personalized during the lead-up to the ceremony. On top of that, the game introduces Song Crystals and Crystal Resonators, which allow players to customize the music played on their farm and in rooms of their home. This gives players more control over the atmosphere of their space and adds another layer of personal expression.
The Saturday Market has become even more important with the arrival of Stillwell and Zorel. Stillwell unlocks Mission Quests through a mission board, while Zorel provides access to music customization items. These additions make the market feel more central to the game’s ongoing progression and give players fresh reasons to visit regularly.
Collectors and completionists also have plenty to look forward to. The museum can now be completed, and two new museum sets have been added: the Honey Set and the Terrarium Treasures Set. Museum wing rooms can now be entered so players can actually view their collections in a more immersive way. Steam Achievements have also been added, and existing saves will receive achievements retroactively based on completed progress.
Version 1.0 introduces a wide range of gameplay additions beyond romance and town progression. New perks have been added across multiple skill categories, including cooking, ranching, and woodcrafting. Players can now kiss NPCs they are dating, engaged to, or married to, and dates now provide a larger boost to heart levels. New request board tasks and an extra Friday Night at the Inn storyline further flesh out the world. There is even a Big Chicken mount, adding a fun and memorable new way to travel.
On the presentation side, the update adds cloud shadows on sunny days, a new winter song, extended versions of seasonal tracks, and 10 new songs tied to Song Crystals. New furniture sets, cosmetics, and visual improvements help make the world feel richer. Players can now rotate their character in the customization menu, and new graphics settings such as brightness and saturation sliders make it easier to tailor the experience to different hardware and preferences.
Quality-of-life improvements are spread throughout the update. Item drop rates from mine treasure chests have been improved, ritual chambers and treasure rooms appear more often, and interaction priority near NPCs has been adjusted so speaking is easier when multiple prompts overlap. The game also adds options for players managing multiple romances, including settings related to breakup letters and relationship status changes after engagement.
Performance and stability have seen major work as well. The developers report substantial performance improvements, reduced VRAM usage by more than 50 percent, and fixes for startup issues that affected some older PCs. Numerous bugs have been addressed, ranging from crashes and animation problems to festival scoring issues and progression-related glitches. A hotfix also resolved a startup crash connected to the newly added localized languages.
Speaking of localization, beta support for seven languages has been added: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Spanish. This should help open the game up to a wider audience as it enters its full-release phase.
Overall, the 1.0 launch turns Fields of Mistria into a much more feature-complete life-sim RPG. Between marriage, children, expanded town restoration, museum completion, new quests, improved customization, and major technical upgrades, this update gives both returning players and newcomers a strong reason to start farming in Mistria now.
