Capcom has introduced the classic ‘Breath of Fire IV’ to its extensive collection on the gaming giant’s platform, Steam. The introduction to the Steam platform follows the game’s release on another platform last year under the Preservation Program.
The game is accessible at an inviting price of $8.99 and entices gamers with a generous 50% launch discount. Similar to its earlier release on the other platform, the adaptation for steam consists of English and Japanese language options. The version boasts of a variety of improvements, which include a DirectX game renderer of superior quality, an array of new rendering options, a superior audio engine, and enhanced keyboard and mouse support.+
Moreover, the Warehouse and Crane minigames have been upgraded, alongside complete support for contemporary controllers. ‘Breath of Fire IV’, initially made available for PlayStation in Japan amidst April 2000, was later expanded to North America within the same year, and Europe in the subsequent year. PC releases in Japan and Europe took place in 2003.
Consistent with earlier games of the series, ‘Breath of Fire IV’ continues the saga of the young Ryu, bestowed with the unique capability to morph into a dragon. In this installment, Ryu, suffering from amnesia, partners with Nina, a princess from the Kingdom of Wyndia. Nina is actively engaged in a mission to locate her older sister, Elina.
‘Breath of Fire IV’ adopts a rotatable isometric camera that ingrains 2D sprites within 3D locations. The game also retains its Master System where characters can acquire new skills and attribute boosts by engaging in an apprenticeship under various masters across the globe and completing certain tasks.
