Gaming News That is Awesome and Radical

Virtual Console Monday: 11/26/07
Double Dribble, Vegas Stakes, and Ecco Jr. I think I only played Ecco Jr. (I got scared playing it, fear of deep water), so I can’t say if the other two are awesome and/or radical. What I do remember is seeing Vegas Stakes in bargain bins everywhere…you couldn’t escape it. The image of that box…

Assassin’s Creed Sells One Million Units in First Week
Ubisoft has released their sales figures for Assassin’s Creed and for it’s first week the game has sold over one million units world wide! Also, Assassin’s Creed was the third best selling Xbox 360 game ever in a given week. The 360 version accounted for 67% of the sales. Well done Ubisoft, well done. Source

Starcraft II: The Story So Far
Blizzard has a nice right up over at starcraft2.com detailing the Starcraft storyline leading up to Starcraft II, which takes place four years after the events of Starcraft: Brood War. I never really paid a lot of attention to the story, so this little write-up is a great refresher. I think I just have a…

PS3 Beats Wii in Japan
For the second week in a row, Sony’s PS3 has outsold the Wii in Japan. Famitsu publisher Enterbrain lists Wii sales at roughly 36,000 and PS3 sales at 53,000 for the week ending November 18. Who knew that new 40GB PS3 would be so popular? Howard Stringer, Sony’s CEO did. In fact, he said the…

Galaxy Vs. Sunshine: They Look the Same to Me
I can’t really tell if there is a huge difference between the two, graphically. Obviously Galaxy looks somewhat better, I’m just commenting on the fact that there isn’t a massive difference between the two. Not that the graphics matters to me that much, I’m sure it’s an amazing game. Graphics aside, since Galaxy doesn’t revolve…

Warhammer 40k: Soulstorm Dark Eldar Archon Trailer
Recently I’ve been playing Dawn of War: Dark Crusade a bunch. I really like how many different races there are and the gameplay is just generally very fun. With so many races I wonder how much balance there is overall (I’ve only played the single player campaign, I assume playing online I would notice any…

Virtual Console Update: Wrecking Crew, Sonic 3D Blast, and Super Air Zonk
I always wanted to play the Zonk games, but I never had TurboGrafx16, nor did anyone I knew. Now I finally can…well, I mean, I could if I had a Wii.

I Finally Finished Etrian Odyssey
Yes, I actually completed a game…I even saw the credits. Etrian Odyssey was released on May 15, 2007 and I bought it the day it came out…so that’s roughly…6 months, 4 days. After watching the credits and getting a “Fin” I saw that there is some post-game stuff to do, so I haven’t nearly done…

Nintendo of America Hates You
Yeah, I said it. See, in Japan, Nintendo has this awesome program called Club Nintendo. Members of Club Nintendo get all kinds of cool gifts we never see in the U.S. This year, Club Nintendo is offering three really nice gifts: a Club Nintendo desk calendar (just skip the calendar, it’s not the awesome part),…

Awesome Radical Retrospective: The Goonies II (NES)
The Goonies II is a game I remember very fondly from childhood. I’m not really sure why I thought it was so awesome, the game was confusing to me and I just wandered around aimlessly. However, looking at my NES games this one just stuck out as a unique game play experience.

Atlus Officially on the 360
Atlus announced today that it will be brining over two tactical RPG’s for the Xbox 360. The first is Spectral Force 3, which takes place in the fantasy world of Neverland, detailing the First Neverland War. Sounds fun…the other is Operation Darkness, the crazy World War II game where you fight zombies, werewolves, and probably…
