During the FFXIV Fan Festival 2024 keynote, the game’s Director and Producer, Naoki Yoshida, announced that Beastmaster, a new limited job, would be introduced in the latter part of the 7.X series. The Beastmaster will be a unique role with a prospective “collection” feature and it will allow players to play solo or in parties with other limited jobs. More specifics, including art and expanded details, are expected to be revealed in due course.
Following the Dawntrail 7.0 patches, Beastmaster will become the second limited job in FFXIV; the first being Blue Mage. The Blue Mage job is distinguished by its mechanic of acquiring spells by observing different enemies’ attacks in combat. Some duties, however, are restricted or unavailable in this limited role.
In addition to the Beastmaster, two other full-time jobs will be added with the FFXIV Dawntrail extension; the Viper, revealed at the 2023 Fan Fest London and the Pictomancer, introduced at the 2024 Tokyo Fan Fest. FFXIV is currently available on PS4, PS5, and PC, and is scheduled to launch on the Xbox Series X in Spring 2024. The Dawntrail expansion is also being developed for a Summer 2024 release.
